TABERNACLE
The Tabernacle as we know it, is being torn down in 2015. It will be replace with a new fully functional tabernacle. One that we will be able to utilize year around, with bathrooms/showers and a new dining hall on the lower level. See pictures of drawings below.
The 80’ by 144’ Tabernacle was one of the first buildings constructed in 1922 and served as the main worship center. The structure includes a 600-seat auditorium where parishioners have worshiped and sang to organ-accompanied hymns.
A key icon in the Tabernacle is the large, multi-paned window, which was installed in 1982 and offers a breathtaking view of the lake. The window is a significant symbol for the retreat center and the communication pieces for the retreat center carry the window’s unique design.
